Tube & Cap Manufacturing Process

Connected operations turn tube bodies and caps into a complete cosmetic package.

A connected process from tube body to finished package

We check each stage from material preparation and tube forming to neck injection molding, printing, decoration, capping, inspection, and packing.

TWO PROCESS PATHS

PE and laminate tube bodies are formed differently

PE tube bodies are coextruded into a seamless form. Laminate tube bodies are made by joining the longitudinal edges of multi-layer web. Both continue through head and neck forming, decoration, cap fitting, inspection, and packing.

5-layer PE tubes

  1. Material preparation
  2. 5-layer coextrusion
  3. Printing
  4. Neck injection molding
  5. Stamping and sealing
  6. Cap molding and capping
  7. Inspection and packaging

PROCESS DETAILS

Role of each major operation

01

Coextrusion and web joining

Coextrusion forms a PE body from multiple resin layers. Web joining rolls laminate material and connects its longitudinal edges.

02

Neck injection molding

Forms the shoulder and neck while considering the cap and dispensing orifice.

03

Printing and surface preparation

PE surfaces may require preparation to support print adhesion before offset or screen printing.

04

Stamping and labeling

Apply the required metallic, color, holographic, or label expression.

05

Sealing and capping

Apply an opening seal where specified, fit the cap, and check orientation and engagement.

06

Inspection and packaging

Check appearance, printing, and assembly to the process criteria before packing.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do the first steps differ for PE and laminate tubes?

PE tube bodies begin with extrusion. Laminate tube bodies begin by joining multi-layer web.

Why can surface preparation be needed before printing?

PE has low surface energy, so preparation may be required to support print adhesion for the selected printing method.

Does every product follow the same sequence?

The basic flow is similar, but applicable steps and sequence vary with the tube structure, decoration, and cap specification.
